Angasmarca
A little over a week ago the group from Faith Bible Church went up to a small Quechua village atop a mountain about two hours outside of Huanuco. The ride was fun and the view was spectacular from the back of Shane's truck. We made it into an adventure.

Going to the village helped me to better understand and more fully appreciate what the Rosengrens are doing here because it showed me how coming to this place feels like stepping a couple hundred years into the past, and it can be hard to be understood and understand people in a situation like that. The Quechua people in this village have an evangelical church, but they still don't have the New Testament in their language. There are people other than the Rosengrens completing that right now, and the Rosengrens are learning the specific dialect in this village so that they can disciple and train people to be leaders in the church here. The Rosengrens are commited to learning Quechua instead of teaching in Spanish because, as one person wisely said, hearing teaching in Spanish is like eating soup with a fork. Currently, the church that exists in the village sees the scriptures and their salvation in a very legalistic way and has never even had the Bible in their own language.

we went to this lovely woman's house, and she fed us oatmeal porridge and big corn.

A little town in the mountains, apart from life as we know it, that has people that are precious to the Lord. It's a very special place.
